Sexy Serum Uses Caffeine and Organic Ingredients for Skin Care Down There!
“JAVA’s caffeine-infused intimate oil has a rich silky texture to create exciting sensations. The combination of organic green coffee and argan oil is wonderful for stimulating blood flow.”— Stephanie Additon, CEO, JAVA Skin Care
JAVA Coffee Infused Skin Care, a women-owned and operated eco-luxury skincare line made with organic green coffee has launched its newest product, Sexy Serum. Sexy Serum, formulated as a moisturizing and nourishing oil for intimate skin, boasts a rich silky texture which is helpful for combating vulva dryness. Tasteless, odorless, and PH balanced at a 5, JAVA’s newest serum is filled with all-natural caffeine and botanicals and can be used daily; in addition, Sexy Serum is non-irritating so there’s no need to wash it off after intimate encounters
“More and more people want intimate wellness products that are not only highly effective but also made without harsh chemicals,” said Stephanie Additon, CEO of JAVA. “This increasing demand for natural and organic skincare products is shaking up the beauty industry. In fact, intimate and sexual wellness products are expected to reach $40 Billion by 2025.”
According to the NIH, nearly 24 percent of U.S. women are affected with one or more pelvic floor disorders. Vaginal dryness occurs in women of all ages, but it becomes much more common after menopause. In addition, Harvard Women’s Health Watch reports that it’s estimated that the problem affects about half of postmenopausal women — most of whom, possibly as many as 90 percent — don’t seek treatment for their symptoms, which include not only dryness but also irritation and pain during sexual intercourse.
Organic Green coffee, the signature ingredient in JAVA products contains significantly higher natural antioxidant levels than virtually any known plant on earth, and delivers unique rejuvenation properties to the skin. Green coffee is high in fatty acids, vitamin E and sterols. It’s has polyphenols like chlorogenic, quinic & ferulic acid making it a powerful antioxidant. Some studies have shown that green coffee helps with elastin and collagen production. It’s also anti-inflammatory & helps with all the basics of anti-aging like firmness, texture and wrinkles.
Customers are flocking to Sexy Serum, praising its unique tasteless, odorless properties, all-natural formulation, and silky feel.
“My first favorite find from the Indie Beauty Expo LA 2020. Sexy Serum from JAVA Skin Care, a silky blend of beautiful oils like green coffee, coconut, evening primrose and more for all over but especially your sexy bits. Edible,” says “Claire McCormack, author at Beauty Independent.
“JAVA’s caffeine-infused intimate oil has a rich silky texture to create exciting sensations,” says Additon. The combination of organic green coffee and argan oil is wonderful for stimulating blood flow. We increased the glide of our serum with all-natural, organic oils that are super-moisturizing as well.”

People talk about making lemonade out of lemons in the dourest of times. But for distilleries in Rhode Island — and across the country — the analogy of making lemonade out of lemons means making hand sanitizer out of ethanol.
“We hadn’t really even fully opened yet, we had been in the friends and family soft-opening phase,” said Manya Rubinstein, CEO of the Industrious Spirit Company (ISCO) on Sims Street in Providence. “We were set to open at the end of April, but we postponed that, and like everyone else, we were trying to figure out what we could do to help in the meantime.”
Then, they realized that the answer was sitting in their still.
“We’re the first distillery in Providence since prohibition, and we’re making everything from scratch on site, so we’re able to produce high-proof ethanol,” Rubinstein said.
High-proof ethanol is a key ingredient in hand sanitizer, which has been hard to get your hands on during the coronavirus pandemic. So, in addition to making their liquor, ISCO is also making hand sanitizer.
“What we’ve been doing is using a byproduct of our process; the first alcohol that comes off the still isn’t good for drinking but is a really good cleanser and good for making hand sanitizer,” Rubinstein said. “As soon as all this started happening it became clear that there was a real need.”
She noted that in the future, ISCO will partner with East Providence specialty chemical producers Reade Advanced Materials to produce the next round of sanitizer.
“We’re talking to local agencies to see if we can scale up our production, not necessarily just using a byproduct, and produce more sanitizer because the need is so great.”
The public can head over to ISCO, 1 Sims St., and drive up to its #WishWeCouldWindow between 1 and 4 p.m. Monday through Friday to pick up a free bottle of hand sanitizer to cleanse hands — and perhaps buy a bottle of vodka to cleanse minds (the business asks that you prepay via its website in advance).
“It’s absolutely not required to purchase vodka; we’re very happy to just give sanitizer to people, but some people have bought vodka and they’ve been saying its cleansing for their insides,” Rubinstein said with a laugh.
Sons of Liberty, a South Kingstown distillery that makes bourbon, whiskey, and hard lemonade, among other alcoholic beverages, also answered the call for hand sanitizer.
“It’s been a whirlwind, so I don’t remember the exact ‘Aha!’ moment,” said Bryan Ricard, the company’s marketing director. “But I just remember thinking, ‘Hey, why don’t we make hand sanitizer?’ The basic formula set forth by the World Health Organization, something like 84 percent of the volume is ethanol, so it’s like OK we have the number-one ingredient, it just makes sense.”
The distillery teamed up with Java Skin Care to offer bottled hand sanitizer to the public in a drive-thru operation at the Peace Dale Elementary School in Wakefield on March 23. The partners hope to host another such sale in the near future.
In the meantime, they have created an online form that local businesses can use to order gallon jugs of hand sanitizer.
John Hopkins Medicine has noted that experts agree that the best method for cleaning hands is washing for at least 20 seconds with soap and water.
THE LOCALLY MADE SKINCARE MY MAKEUP ARTIST FRIEND IS LIVING FOR WHILE SHE’S ISOLATING
I was just thinking to myself how important it is to keep up with self care during the current situation, specifically our skincare and grooming routines.
It does not have to stop because we are quarantined although it is tempting to just let things go and not give any of it as much attention.
Some might figure, “Why should I? I’m not going anywhere!”
I believe it is extremely important now since everyone is stressed and worried. (The best thing we can do is to keep taking care of ourselves!)
Also, we all find ourselves having the time. (No excuses for skipping.)
So, every day wake up , put on some cute and cozy joggers or loungewear, and take care of YOU.
Here are three skin and body care products (from Rhode Island-based artisans and makers) that Karen is loving right now.
The New Bedford Soap Company Fountain of Youth Cream…I first discovered it at the Providence Flea. No animal products, handmade in small batches, and chock full of plant based emollients and essential oils, it feels like magic. I also use their natural citrus deodorant stick.
The Peyton Co.Hyaluronic Acid 2% Serum, for adding hydration and plumpness before moisturizer…I apply to my lips at night before lip balm. I wake up plumped!!
JAVA’s coffee-infused Lip Scrub and Lip Balm…for keeping those lips soft, hydrated, and crack free! 💋
I have 40 years of makeup and skincare experience. From humble beginnings in Rhode Island to the glitz of LA, I’m currently freelancing in various retail locations in southern New England, in addition to booking for weddings. My focus is on guiding women towards achieving healthy, glowing, polished, sophisticated, yet effortless skincare and natural make-up routines.
JAVA Skin Care was in LA in January exhibiting at the Indie Beauty Expo. We made some awesome connections. Let us introduce you to The Indie Mood and their latest blog about the Indie Beauty event – Spoiler alert: they offered up some love for JAVA.
This past week in Los Angeles has been so surreal for us both. We recorded an episode of Natch Beaut and met tons of brands at Indie Beauty Expo, all with something interesting and original to offer. We saw so much innovation and creativity in one space. Almost every brand was woman owned, and it was so inspiring to see women lifting each other up, from brand owners to bloggers. Most importantly, I got to spend a week with Giulia creating content and planning the future of Indie Mood. This blog has given me so much. It’s ignited my passion, inspired so much purpose, and given me a best friend. *wipes away tear* We wanted to share some of the highlights of our experience at IBE LA 2020.
Being a Part of onTUWI
onTUWI stands for ‘teaming up with indie’ – it’s an online shop that sells indie beauty products curated by bloggers and influencers. We were so honored that they asked us to be a part of this program! We got to try a ton of products by brands that had booths at the expo and pick our favorites for our own boutique. Check out our previous post to learn about everything we selected for our boutique and why we chose them. You can visit our boutique here, and use our code THEINDIEMOOD20 for 20% off, which is an affiliated code. Our shop will only be open until March 27th, 2020!
Meeting New Brands
The most exciting part of this entire experience was seeing so many amazing Indies in one place. There was so much energy and innovation; brands that have created things that are completely original. NipLips is a lipstick brand that uses color scanning technology to match you with your perfect lipstick shade based on the color of your nipple. Like you are probably feeling reading this, at first I was a bit doubtful, but the colors I was matched to changed my mind (aka – they were perfect). You find the color through a close up scan of your nipple that is taken through a smartphone app, which then matches you to a complimentary shade.
Sway is a body care brand that creates signature body oils in which you can customize based on what issue you want to target, i.e. adding extra moisture, healing, or antioxidants, as well as your choice of fragrance, along with add ons like shimmer, crystals, and flower petals. Giulia and I each customized our own oils, and they’re beautiful visually and functionally.
Moonchild Sleep was memorable because the founder spent years searching for an ethical way to gather silk without hurting the worms to create stunningly pearlescent pillowcases, eye masks, and more. On top of sourcing the silk ethically, she also uses every last scrap of material to make things like scrunchies. Silk is incredibly good for your skin and hair as you sleep: it keeps you cool, doesn’t overheat or cause breakage to your hair, and prevents you from sweating which in turn prevents acne. These are just a few of the interesting brands we came across; there was so much innovation at IBE LA 2020 that got us both so excited for the future of indies.
Seeing Creative Strides Towards Sustainability
We were blown away by the dedication that we saw toward sustainability this year at IBE. So many brands have come up with interesting solutions to reduce waste. A standout was Root, a cruelty free and vegan beauty and lifestyle brand based in Iowa. They’ve really gone above and beyond to make their brand as close to zero waste as possible, including new compostable refill packets for their powder foundations and eyeshadows. They also have large refill bottles for their liquid products, so if you love a product, you can purchase it in bulk, including skincare, haircare, and soap. They also have a ton of products, including their multipurpose cheek and eye cream – Pretty Paint – in zero waste metal tins that can fit into a magnetic palette. The pretty paint in the shade Elisa is in our onTUWI shop – use code THEINDIEMOOD20 for 20% off!
Another brand that blew us away in their dedication to sustainability was Java Skincare. They used raw green coffee beans to create their oils, but instead of wasting those beans, the repurpose and roast them to make their coffee body scrub. They also created a really beautiful refill bar for their oils for their stockists to have in store, using chemistry flasks to refill their most popular oils at a discounted rate. The chemistry flasks make it easy to measure out the perfect amount while also looking cool.
Brands That Were Solving Unsolved Problems For Consumers
There were also so many brands that finally were taking strides to fix issues consumers have had for years. Indies have the capability to innovate from experience, and it really showed at IBE. One example is Solara Suncare – FINALLY a mineral sunscreen without harmful, pore clogging ingredients that doesn’t leave a white cast on your face. It’s also approved in Europe, which has the strictest standards for suncare than anywhere else. It’s also vegan, cruelty free, and reef friendly… where has this been all my life!?
Palette was another product that blew us away… Giulia was literally screaming. It’s a leak-resistant travel and beauty tool with 5 wells in a row for you to safely bring your cream beauty products along with you when you travel. The wells are silicone, so they can be easily cleaned by pressing them up.
The entire IBE experience was phenomenal, and getting to spend time together was amazing. We met so many awesome brands that are bringing that uniqueness that both of us love about indies to the table in so many ways. We feel so lucky to have been able to attend the event together this year, and we are super excited to see what 2020 has in store for us next.

We would like to introduce you to Katie of Create.Play.Travel.
Katie Wallace is a Mom to 3 kiddos, wife and DIY enthusiast. She started Create. Play. Travel. as a creative outlet within busy family life.
Here is what Katie had to say about the JAVA Skin Care Wonderbar Coffee + Mint Soap.
If you’ve had any sort of skin irritation or sensitivity, you know the importance of using natural products. Anything that we put on our skin is quickly absorbed by our body. Each season has its own skin care challenges, such as winter dryness and summer sun exposure. These natural products and skin care tips can help your whole family live and feel healthier!
COFFEE INFUSED SKIN CARE
I absolutely love coffee, but I would have never thought to put it in my skin care! Coffee grounds are a natural exfoliate and the caffeine from coffee is a natural anti-inflammatory. I have tried several luxurious products from Java Skin Care. As expected, the deep coffee fragrance combined with the beneficial properties of Java provide rich benefits and smells amazing!
I had the chance to try the Java Skin Care Mint + Coffee Exfoliation Wonderbar made with organic ground coffee. I love this natural soap for a few reasons. First, the Wonderbar is made with ground roasted coffee which scrubs away dead skin cells. The potent mix of coffee serum and mint soothes and smooths the skin.
Also, the Wonderbar is generous in size and will last a long time if stored in a dry place.
